Carpet Installation Jupiter, FL | We'll Floor You

Preparation is Essential

The team here at We’ll Floor U is ready to help you every step of the way, from selecting your new carpet, to professional on-site measurement, to the removal of your old flooring, and finally to skilled installation that includes moving your furniture & replacing trim. We do it all for you to ensure that your new carpet looks amazing and provides you & your family with lasting satisfaction. We’ve assembled this carpet installation guide to help you prepare for what to expect before, during & after the installation of your new carpeting.

How to Prepare Before Installation Day

We’ll start by removing all furniture and other objects from the areas to be carpeted. You’ll need to empty the contents of china cabinets, closets and drawers before we arrive.

Flooring removal & disposal

We’ll help you determine in advance how your existing flooring will be removed & disposed of, which can be a time-consuming task.

Trim, molding, baseboards & woodwork

In many cases, we need to remove moldings and baseboards prior to carpet installation. Painted baseboards, woodwork and paint may need retouching after the installation is complete.

Subflooring

We may need to level & clean your existing subfloor before new carpet is laid, or a new subfloor may be required.

Doors.

When carpeting is installed, there’s always the possibility that your doors, especially closet, basement and bedroom doors, may not clear the new pile height and will be unable to swing free. Our installers will remove doors in order to install the carpet and re-hang them if possible. We may suggest shaving or cutting down doors to ensure clearance.

Cleanup.

Installing new carpet will produce waste. These materials will be collected by your installer and left at your property’s trash collection site. If you foresee any issues, let us know ahead of time so we can arrange an alternative plan.

What to Expect On Installation Day

Be home.

Prepare to stay home on installation day, or to have an adult member of your household be there in your place. It’s best to have someone there to show the installation crew around & answer any questions. We’ll do our best to keep you up-to-date on unexpected changes in our schedule.

Keep your family safe.

Your installers will use a variety of tools and techniques that can make the work area hazardous. Please make sure that your children and pets are kept out of the work area on installation day.

Don’t forget the walk-through.

We recommend that, prior to the completion of the installation, you walk through the job with the lead installer. This will give you the opportunity to ask questions and be clear about any final details.

What to Do After Installation Day

Clear the air.

Dust & odors from adhesives may linger up to 3 days post-installation, so you should establish good ventilation in the rooms where new carpet has been installed, especially if you are sensitive to odors.

Vacuum frequently.

Shedding is a natural feature of newly installed carpet. Frequent vacuuming for the first few days should remove any loose fibers from the carpet’s surface. “Sprouting” refers to small tufts or loops of carpet that become visible after the installation. Use a small pair of scissors to carefully trim any fibers so that they’re flush with the surface of the carpet. Finally, if wrinkles or ripples appear, it may be necessary to re-stretch the carpet. Please contact us to have this done professionally.
